Following is a list of resources that may be used to find out more about the Twenty-First Century Agenda on Aging and Vision Loss, aging and vision loss statistics, and other information pertaining to aging and vision oss.

  • AFB's Research Navigator, February 25, 2016, edition, "Age is Just a Number," provides updated statistics and a discussion of data about the lives and experiences of older Americans with vision loss. Don't forget to read and subscribe to the Research Navigator, a quarterly component of AFB's DirectConnect newsletter.
  • The Association for Education and Rehabilitation of the Blind and Visually Impaired (AER)'s Division on Aging (Division 15) is comprised of "dedicated individuals of diverse backgrounds, with a broad matrix of knowledge, skills, abilities, and strong interests in aging and vision loss." Professionals in the fields of vision loss and aging are encouraged to join and participate. Division 15's website includes their most recent newsletters.
  • www.aging.gov is the website for aging issues managed by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The website includes resources developed as a part of the 2015 White House Conference on Aging.
  • www.aging.senate.gov is the site for the U.S. Senate's Special Committee on Aging. This site is frequently updated with news and information and includes a special hotline for reporting fraud and elder financial abuse.
