Washington, DC (September 21, 2020)—The American Foundation for the Blind mourns the passing of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who played a pivotal role in disability history with her opinion in the landmark Olmstead v. L.C. decision, wherein the Supreme Court ruled that unjustified segregation of people with disabilities constitutes discrimination under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
In solidarity with all who recognize Justice Ginsburg’s work in advancing disability rights, the American Foundation for the Blind will honor her legacy by striving to create a world of no limits for people with vision loss.
