Equal access to the electoral process is the right of all citizens. All polling places and methods should be accessible to enable blind and visually impaired people to vote privately and independently.
Help America Vote Act (HAVA)
HAVA seeks to make election procedures in general more uniform and ensure that voters are not discriminated against.
- Title I requires states to develop plans to improve the election systems. Federal funds have been made available to assist states in making these improvements.
- Title II establishes the Election Assistance Commission and describes its duties, powers and responsibilities.
