Deane Blazie founded Maryland Computer Services and Blazie Engineering, two pioneering developers of assistive technology during the '70s, '80s, and '90s. His products—known for their usability, functionality, and affordability—include the TotalTalk, the first full-speech talking terminal; the Braille 'N Speak, a portable note taker; and the Braille Blazer, the first portable braille printer to print on standard-sized paper. Currently retired, Blazie maintains an active interest in both mainstream and assistive technology industries.
