My comment is in regard to Bill Holton's article in the May 2013 issue, Voiceye: A Breakthrough in Document Access.
Indeed, a bottom-up consumer approach will help get us the power of this evolving technology. Clearly in tight economic times, corporations and governments are less inclined to make the initial investment, so the start has to be grassroots-based. It's a case of evolutionary social change, and I sincerely hope that the US vendor will listen and move to make a user-friendly software app available. I do believe that approach will give us something long-term.

My question comes in response to reading the May 2013 article, TextGrabber + Translator from ABBYY and the StandScan Pro: A Review of Two Products, by Janet Ingber.
I would like to know how TextGrabber + Translator compares to Prizmo in speed and accuracy. Any information you can provide will be appreciated.

Prizmo's recent update has made the app a viable option. It does have one good feature that TextGrabber doesn't, which is the ability to create documents with multiple pages. I still like TextGrabber better. In my opinion it gives a better scan and has a simple interface. Both of the apps are good, however. There is a Prizmo app for the Mac, but it is not completely accessible. I hope this information is helpful.
