Prior to AFB, Eric spent seven years as the executive director for the American Council of the Blind (ACB), where he pulled the organization out of a long-standing deficit and significantly expanded program reach. Before this role, Eric served as ACB’s Director of External Relations, fostering relationships with the tech sector and advancing legislation in Congress that expanded digital inclusion and accessibility.

He is a past Legis Fellow through the Brookings Institute, serving for the Education and Workforce Committee in the U.S. House of Representatives. He moved into the fellowship after years of advocating on Capitol Hill while at the National Industries for the Blind (NIB). Eric holds a B.A. in Journalism from the University of Iowa.
