Dear Margaret Sanger,

Your last note was like your warm hand clasping mine, and inexpressibly comforting. Polly and I were moved by your sweet invitation to make your --- (which State?) home our abode for a while, and we thank you with our affection.

But our immediate problem of shelter is solved. Mr. and Mrs. Pfeiffer most kindly took us in here at Harvard House where we shall stay until June. When the second Arcan Ridge rises from the ashes, as your own life did in another sense, dear Margaret, we shall think of you as we often do and give thanks at the remembrance of the countless mothers and children you are snatching from the sooty flames of ignorance and social injustice.

With love and wishes for your continued strength to save and bless, in which Polly joins, I am,

Devotedly your friend,
